This Hot Buttered Rum is a classic holiday drink you can mix in a slow cooker in minutes and let it simmer all day long!

Ingredients

  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup 1 stick salted butter
  • 2 quarts water
  • 2 cups spiced rum
  • Whipped Cream optional
  • Ground nutmeg optional

Instructions

  1. Add cinnamon sticks, cloves, brown sugar, butter, water, and rum to the crockpot and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours.
  2. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg

Recipe Notes

Low and slow is key to making sure all of the butter melts
You can add in vanilla or almond extract for a little extra flavor.
