This IRISH CREAM CHOCOLATE MILKSHAKE is the perfect adult dessert. Skip the green beer this St. Patrick’s Day and enjoy an indulgent frozen treat instead!
My desire to go out on the town on St. Patrick’s Day is gone. Those days have passed. The idea of flat, green beer . . . screaming loud bagpipes and drunk people puking in trash cans just doesn’t interest me. What can I say? I’m too old for that stuff.
I would much rather cozy up in my warm house and drink a Boozy Chocolate Milkshake! Yeah, that’s more like it. Comfort, quiet, booze and dessert. That is more my style nowadays. Don’t get me wrong, I used to love partying on St. Patrick’s Day. But, I think I’ll leave that to the college kids. This old gal has better things to do. Those blankets aren’t going to crochet themselves. The History Channel isn’t going to watch itself. And somebody has to stay home and drink these Boozy Milkshakes. I’m a hop, skip and a jump away from yelling at the neighborhood kids for playing near my yard. “You Hooligans!”
So, I feel like this milkshake should have a disclaimer. I am not timid with the Irish Cream. This milkshake definitely packs a punch! If you prefer just a hint of the boozy flavor, go ahead and decrease the amount of Irish Cream. Did I mention that the chocolate sauce is spiked with Irish Cream too? How could I forget? This sauce is a super simple blend of Nutella and Irish Cream. So . . . so . . . so . . . good!
Join me! Skip the hooligan partiers and stay home. Make some corned beef and cabbage for dinner. Then sip on this Irish Cream Chocolate Milkshake while watching the cinema classic, Leprechaun!
- 3 Cups Chocolate Ice Cream
- 1/2 Cup Irish Cream Whiskey (or less if preferred)
- 1/2 Cup Whole Milk
- 1 Tablespoon Nutella
- 2 teaspoons Irish Cream Whiskey
- Blend ice cream, Irish cream and milk until smooth.
- Pour into glasses and top with whipped cream.
- Microwave Nutella for 15 seconds. Add Irish cream and stir until completely smooth. Drizzle sauce over milkshakes.
