It’s a brand new year! With that comes promises of a new outlook on life, a hope for great things to come, and lifestyle changes for the better. I’ve been working hard over the past year to get in shape and eat right. It hasn’t been an easy journey, but I’m making progress! To help further my efforts, I’ve added Meta Appetite Control to some of my favorite meals to help control my snack cravings* during the day.
Starting my day off with a nutritious breakfast makes a huge difference in my eating habits for the rest of the day. If I skip breakfast, I’m a hundred times more likely to start snacking early and keeping grazing all day long. Which is great because I’m the kind of snacker that’s all-or-nothing. I don’t snack all the time, but when I do it’s a go big or go home situation. I could snack enough to skip a meal, and when that happens I don’t usually make the best choices. That’s why this smoothie bowl is one of my favorite easy morning meals.
I think my favorite thing about smoothie bowls is the variety of options. I can make any of my favorite smoothies depending on the flavor I’m in the mood for that morning, and add my favorite healthy toppings. I like to use everything from nuts and flax seeds to berries and granola. Smoothie bowls are delicious any time of year. From the dead of winter to a hot summer day, it’s a light and refreshing breakfast. My whole family loves this Raspberry Smoothie Bowl. To give my healthy eating habits a boost, I add some Meta Appetite Control to my smoothie bowls. The Meta psyllium fiber thickens and forms a gel in my digestive system that slows absorption and digestion to give me that full feeling. I don’t feel the need to snack in between meals and can focus on making good food choices at those meals. I love having my cravings* under control! I can enjoy my day without feeling my stomach gnawing at itself, telling me to eat when I know I should be fine. It’s these little changes to my eating habits that are helping make long-term differences in my lifestyle. My husband and boys are proud of me, and I’m proud of myself for sticking it out to reach my goals!
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1 cup baby spinach, rinsed
- 1 cup frozen mixed berries
- ½ cup frozen pineapple
- ½ cup frozen peaches
- 2 teaspoons Meta Appetite Control
- 4 strawberries, sliced
- ¼ cup blueberries
- ¼ cup coconut flakes
- ¼ sliced almonds
- 1 tablespoon honey
- To a blender, add the coconut milk, spinach, berries, pineapple, peaches, and Meta Appetite Control.
- Puree until smooth. (You may need to pause blending and give everything a mix once or twice.)
- Pour smoothie into a bowl.
- Arrange toppings over the smoothie in rows.
- Drizzle honey over the top and serve immediately.
